Connecting Claude

Paste the address once, sign in once, then start a new conversation. Setting up took 5 minutes; this takes two.

What you are about to paste looks like this. Your own address is on Your MCP, where you found this link.

https://…/mcp

  1. 1

Open Claude's settings and find the section for outside tools. It is currently called Connectors.

  2. 2

Choose the option to add one of your own. It is currently called Add custom connector.

  3. 3

Paste your connector address. It is on the DiscordMCP page you came here from.

  4. 4

Confirm. Claude then sends you to a sign-in page, which comes from your own instance.

  5. 5

Enter your passphrase there, once. That is the only place it belongs, and nobody here will ever ask you for it.

  6. 6

You land back in Claude. The connector should now show as connected, with its tools listed.

  7. 7

Start a new conversation. One that is already running may not pick up new tools.

How you know it worked

The connector shows as connected, with a list of tools under it.
There is nothing left to do in Discord. Whatever is still missing is missing here.

The safest test there is: it only looks, and changes nothing.

Show me an overview of my Discord server.

If something will not work

The section is not where it should be. Claude renames its menus from time to time. Look for whatever brings outside things in, under whatever it is called this month.

The sign-in was interrupted. Open the connector again and finish it. Until then it is added but not signed in.

No tools are showing. Almost always the old conversation. Starting a new one costs nothing.
